Orlando Ramos

Candidate for Ward 8 Springfield City Council

Continued Efforts to Save the Indian Orchard Post Office

Orlando Ramos continues his efforts to save the Indian Orchard Post Office. Mr. Ramos has already been in contact with Congressman Neal’s office, as well as the offices of Senators John Kerry and Scott Brown. In a letter written to them, Ramos says “this post office is part of our identity—this is who we are; this is what makes us Indian Orchard. We take pride in the fact that we have our own zip code, our own Main Street, and our own post office. Losing it would be devastating to our businesses, senior citizens, and all residents of Indian Orchard.”

In addition, Mr. Ramos has launched a Facebook page dedicated to the residents of Indian Orchard—and the surrounding areas—that depend on the services. Many members have already posted on the page to share their stories about the post office; and what it would mean to them if it were to close.
