Orlando Ramos

Candidate for Ward 8 Springfield City Council

Dear Friends,
Welcome to the official Orlando Ramos for Springfield City Council Ward 8 website.

I hope that the information provided on this website will give you a better understanding of who I am as a person, and the ideas that I will support as your City Councilor.  I consider myself to be a fair and understanding person, and a good decision maker; but more importantly a good listener.

For me, it’s not about the job title; it’s about what can be accomplished for the people by attaining such a position.  It’s about giving a voice in government to those who feel that they have no voice.  It’s about making progress!  I believe that in order to make progress we need to work together—no “one person” can do it alone.  Ward 8 needs a leader who will fight for all people while maintaining a sense of integrity and accountability on behalf of the people being represented; a leader that knows how to bring people together – not drive them apart.  I vow to be a leader who will listen to your concerns and work hard on your behalf.

I am not a politician; I am a man of faith, a proud father, and a concerned citizen of this great city.  If I have the privilege of being elected as your City Councilor, I will make decisions based on what is right for the residents of the city; and not based on what is best for politics!

Our goal is to be accessible and responsive to our constituents.   That is why, if elected, I would like this website to be available and regularly updated through my term as Councilor—in order to keep the people of Ward 8 informed on current issues; as well as using it as a source for communication.  In addition to this website, I can be reached by telephone at 413-455-1618, by Facebook, Twitter or email at Oramos108@aol.com, or (if elected) by attending office hours that I will be holding at various locations throughout Ward 8 twice a month.

I encourage you to visit the Ask Orlando page and leave questions or comments.  I look forward to meeting all of you, and listening to your concerns; and I humbly ask that you consider voting for me in November.  Thank you and God Bless!

Sincerely,

Orlando Ramos
Candidate for City Council
